The exact operation varies by product family, so the function description should be reviewed before ordering.

Door preparation is a critical fit requirement. Interconnected hardware may use two bores, specific center-to-center spacing, manufacturer-specific chassis dimensions, and defined latch and deadbolt backsets. Measure the existing preparation or follow the template for a new installation rather than assuming a standard lever-and-deadbolt layout will accept every interconnected lock.

Residential and commercial interconnected systems can differ in grade, cylinder format, keyway, trim construction, handing, and available lock functions.
