Door Knob Combo Packs

Door knob combo packs pair a keyed entry knob or passage-style knob with a coordinating deadbolt for residential exterior doors. The active assortment includes traditional mechanical single-cylinder deadbolt combinations as well as selected electronic or smart-deadbolt packages with coordinating knob trim.

Compare knob function, deadbolt type, keying or SmartKey compatibility where applicable, door preparation, backset, door thickness, latch and strike configuration, finish, and included components. For electronic combinations, also review power, connectivity, app or platform requirements, and the exact features of the deadbolt model.

Choosing Door Knob Combo Packs

Door knob combo packs combine two pieces of entry hardware in a coordinated package, typically a knob lockset and a deadbolt. The active assortment includes keyed entry knob and single-cylinder deadbolt combinations, plus selected packages that pair passage-style knob trim with an electronic or smart deadbolt. Buying the pieces together can simplify finish coordination, but the function of each component still needs to match the door and security plan.

For mechanical sets, check whether the knob is keyed entry, passage, or another function and confirm the deadbolt configuration. Single-cylinder deadbolts use an exterior keyed cylinder with an interior thumbturn. Keying features vary by brand, and some products support user-rekeyable systems while others use conventional cylinders. If several doors need to operate with the same key, verify the keying compatibility before ordering.

Door preparation is just as important as lock function. Compare backset, bore size, edge preparation, door thickness, latch face style, strike, and the vertical spacing between the knob and deadbolt bores. A combo pack does not guarantee compatibility with every existing door, so replacement installations should be measured before the old hardware is removed.

Electronic combo packs add requirements such as battery power, Wi-Fi or other connectivity, app setup, platform compatibility, user-code features, and model-specific installation steps. Review the exact electronic deadbolt specifications rather than assuming all smart-lock combinations offer the same features or connectivity.

Once function and preparation are confirmed, select the knob style and finish that coordinate with the entry. Check what the package includes, especially latches, strikes, cylinders, trim, batteries, or other accessories, so the complete installation is planned before ordering.
