Schlage Dummy Door Levers

Schlage Dummy Door Levers for Non-Latching Doors

Schlage dummy door levers are used on closet doors, pantry doors, inactive doors, French doors, and other openings where a non-latching pull handle is part of the door setup. These levers coordinate with other Schlage door hardware styles and functions. A dummy lever serves as a fixed, non-turning handle rather than operating a latch or keyed lock. Choose this function when the door is held closed by separate hardware and needs a pull. If the handle must retract a working latch, compare passage or locking functions instead.

Check the quantity supplied before ordering. Schlage F170 listings in this collection include single dummy levers, while selected FC172 listings specify a pair or two-sided configuration. A single dummy is not automatically a complete set for both faces of a door. For French doors or paired closet doors, count the door faces that need handles and confirm the package contents for each chosen model. Match any stated left-hand or right-hand requirement as well. Accent, Flair and Merano listings include handed versions, so choose by the full model designation.

Schlage Latitude dummy levers offer a straight handle profile, with several surrounding trim styles represented in the collection. Accent, Flair and other designs provide additional choices for coordinating nearby doors. When looking for a dummy door handle with a backplate, compare the actual rose or decorative trim shown on the listing, its dimensions and its mounting requirements. Trim names and shapes vary, and not every dummy lever uses an extended backplate. Check the specified finish against existing hardware and review the selected product image before choosing the final combination.

For replacement work, inspect the mounting surface, existing holes and clearance around the handle. Follow the installation requirements for the exact dummy model, especially when changing from a single-sided handle to a two-sided assembly. Decorative trim should not be assumed to cover old holes without checking its dimensions. Browse all Schlage door levers to coordinate the rest of your project, including passage levers for non-locking latching doors and privacy levers for bedrooms and bathrooms. For an inactive exterior entry needing a coordinating grip-style set, compare Schlage dummy handlesets and verify the hardware format required.
