Schlage Strike Plates for Door Latches, Deadbolts, and Replacement Locks

Schlage strike plates mount to the door frame where the latch bolt or deadbolt enters when the door closes. The correct strike must align with the lock and match the frame preparation, so replacement selection depends on more than finish or overall appearance.

Schlage latch strike plates are used with door knobs, levers, cylindrical locks, and other latch-based hardware. Deadbolt strikes receive the deadbolt bolt and may use different opening sizes, reinforcement, or frame preparations. Adjustable strike plates provide limited alignment adjustment, while extended-lip strikes project farther from the frame for openings that require additional clearance.

When replacing a Schlage door strike plate, measure the overall length and width, latch or bolt opening, lip length, corner radius or square-corner profile, and screw-hole spacing. Also compare the existing lock or latch series where possible, because strikes that look similar can have different dimensions or opening geometry.

Commercial Schlage strike hardware may be used with cylindrical locks, mortise locks, deadbolts, and other commercial door hardware. These applications can use ANSI or other standardized frame preparations, but the exact strike still needs to match the lock function, frame, and hardware series.

For a Schlage repair, identify the current latch or deadbolt series and compare the strike’s plate dimensions, lip shape, corner radius, opening and screw spacing.
