Schlage Dummy Door Knobs

Shop Schlage dummy door knobs for closets, pantries and inactive French doors that need a fixed pull. These non-turning knobs provide a grip without operating a latch or lock. Choose a single dummy knob for one door face or compare two-sided dummy sets when you need matching trim on both sides.

Browse F170 single dummy and Schlage Custom FC172 listings in knob styles such as Georgian, Plymouth, Andover, Orbit and Bowery. Compare the knob shape, decorative rose, finish and package contents before ordering. Match the hardware to your door preparation and the Schlage knobs used throughout the rest of your home.

Choosing Schlage Dummy Door Knobs for Closets and French Doors

Schlage dummy door knobs are fixed pulls for openings where a turning, latching knob is unnecessary. On a closet or pantry door, a separate ball catch or magnetic catch can hold the door closed while the knob provides a place to pull. For French doors, first identify how each door leaf operates and which hardware holds it in place. A dummy knob does not operate a latch or provide a locking function. If the opening needs security, select the appropriate functioning lock hardware for that door.

Check whether the listing is a single dummy, half dummy or two-sided dummy set. This collection includes Schlage F170 single dummy knobs and FC172 listings identified as pairs or two-sided sets. Count the door faces that need a knob before choosing a quantity: one closet door with a pull on the outside has different requirements from double doors with pulls on both faces. Read the individual listing for included pieces and mounting details rather than assuming every package contains two knobs. Keep the model number with your project notes so additional hardware is easier to match.

Choose the knob and rose together when coordinating a room. Listings here include Georgian, Plymouth, Andover, Siena, Orbit and Bowery designs, along with Schlage Custom options such as Dawes and Alexandria glass knobs. Decorative trim combinations include styles such as Addison, Camelot, Century and Collins; the available combinations vary by product. Compare the selected finish across all the hardware in the opening, including hinges and other visible trim. Product photographs help with the overall look, while the model and finish selections identify the exact configuration you are ordering.

Before installing, check the mounting instructions, existing holes, door thickness and space available for the rose. A replacement dummy knob should suit the door preparation as well as the desired appearance; do not assume a new rose will cover every old hole.
