LCN Electronic Door Closers

Shop LCN electronic door closers and related door-control hardware, including Sentronic closer/holders, SEM electromagnetic door holders and selected automatic operators. These products perform different jobs: a Sentronic closer combines controlled closing with electrically controlled hold-open, a magnetic holder retains an open door, and an automatic operator powers door movement.

Start with the function your opening needs, then compare the exact LCN model, voltage, mounting arrangement and included components. For replacement work, match the complete ordering code and installation requirements before selecting a finish. Browse all LCN door closers for additional mounting styles, or visit LCN door closer parts for service components.

Choosing LCN Electronic Closers, Holders and Operators

Choosing LCN electronic door-control hardware starts with understanding what the opening needs to do. Electrically controlled hold-open and powered opening are different functions, even though both involve electrical connections. A door that needs to remain open until its holding mechanism releases requires a different solution from a door that must open automatically for a pedestrian. Identify the existing equipment and required operation before comparing model numbers, mounting styles or finishes.

LCN Sentronic door closers combine mechanical closing with an electrically controlled hold-open function. The 4040SE is a surface-mounted closer/holder; when its holding mechanism releases after current interruption, the closer controls the door's closing movement. It is not a powered-opening operator. For a replacement 4040SE, compare the complete model code, electrical rating, track configuration and mounting details with the existing installation. Follow the applicable LCN instructions for the specific closer and its connection to the building's control system.

LCN SEM electromagnetic door holders serve a separate purpose. Products in this collection include SEM7820, SEM7840 and SEM7850 listings, along with a replacement magnet core for SEM7850. A holder retains the door in its open position; the separate door closer provides the closing action after release. Check the mounting location, projection, electrical requirements and mating hardware when selecting a holder. A replacement magnet core is a service component, so review the package contents instead of assuming every listing supplies a complete holder assembly.

Automatic door operators provide powered door movement and must be selected for that application. The collection also includes a 9542 operator listing, which should be evaluated separately from the Sentronic closers and SEM holders. Confirm handing, mounting arrangement, header dimensions, activation equipment and the components supplied with the selected package. Do not assume an operator, actuator or other accessory is included unless the individual listing identifies it. Use the manufacturer's installation documentation to compare the complete configuration with the opening.

For replacement work, keep photographs of the product label and mounting arrangement, and record the complete model and electrical rating. This helps distinguish a like-for-like replacement from a change in function. For conventional mechanical closing, compare LCN surface mounted door closers. For individual arms, covers and other compatible service components, browse LCN door closer parts and match the part to the exact series.
