Kwikset Door Levers

Kwikset door levers include passage, privacy, dummy, keyed entry, and selected electronic lever hardware for bedrooms, bathrooms, hallways, closets, offices, utility rooms, and exterior residential entries. The active assortment spans reversible and handed lever designs, round and square trim, and traditional or contemporary profiles.

Choose the lever function first, then compare backset, latch preparation, door thickness, handing, rosette dimensions, cylinder or keyway for keyed models, SmartKey compatibility where offered, electronic features where applicable, and finish. Interior and exterior use does not replace the need to select the correct lock function.

Choosing a Kwikset Door Lever

Lever function determines how the door operates. Passage levers latch without locking, privacy levers provide interior privacy locking, dummy levers are fixed trim, and keyed entry levers control exterior access with a cylinder. Electronic lever locks can add keypad or connected access while retaining lever operation.

For replacement work, check backset, cross-bore and edge-bore preparation, latch faceplate or drive-in configuration, door thickness, strike, and rosette size. Some lever families are reversible, while others require left- or right-hand ordering, so handing should be confirmed when specified.

Keyed Kwikset levers may use SmartKey Security on selected models. Confirm the keyway and re-keying system if the new lever needs to coordinate with existing locks. Storeroom, entry, or other specialized functions should be selected according to the actual operating requirements rather than by lever style alone.

Lever shape and rosette design affect both appearance and clearance. Check projection and nearby trim when a lever is close to a screen door, cabinet, narrow stile, or adjacent wall. Square and round roses can also cover different areas of an existing door surface.

Once function and fit are confirmed, compare finish with the deadbolt, hinges, handleset, and other visible hardware. Product specifications should be used to verify included latch, strike, keys, and mounting components.
