GEO Door Catches

GEO door catches include adjustable ball catches and matching strike hardware for interior doors that need to stay closed without a conventional knob- or lever-operated latch. The active assortment includes drive-in and faceplate-style ball catches along with a radius-corner ball-catch strike.

Compare catch body diameter and length, faceplate dimensions and corner shape, adjustment method, strike style, door and frame preparation, and finish. Replacement catches should be matched to the existing bore or mortise and aligned carefully with the strike.

Choosing a GEO Ball Catch

Ball catches are commonly used on closet, pantry, French, and other interior doors where the door needs to remain closed but an operating latch is not required. A spring-loaded ball engages the strike as the door closes and releases when the door is pulled open.

Drive-in catches install into a bored opening in the door edge or top, while faceplate-style catches use a visible plate that sits in a mortise. These preparations are different, so identify the existing door preparation before selecting a replacement. For faceplate models, compare plate length, width, corner radius, and screw spacing.

Adjustment controls how far the ball projects and how firmly it engages the strike. Proper alignment between the catch and strike is important for smooth closing and reliable holding force. A catch that is adjusted too far out or misaligned can make the door difficult to close.

The strike should suit the catch and frame preparation. If replacing only the strike, compare its shape, dimensions, screw pattern, and corner style with the existing recess. Finish can be coordinated with hinges, dummy knobs or levers, and other visible door hardware after compatibility is confirmed.
