Deltana Door Hinges

Deltana door hinges include plain-bearing, ball-bearing, spring, stainless-steel, non-removable-pin, square-corner, and radius-corner hinge configurations for residential and commercial-style doors. The active assortment spans common hinge sizes as well as specialty dimensions and materials.

Match a hinge by height, width, corner radius or square-corner preparation, bearing type, material, pin configuration, screw pattern, door and frame preparation, and finish. For replacement work, measuring the existing hinge leaf and mortise is the best way to avoid unnecessary door or frame modification.

Choosing Deltana Door Hinges

Deltana door hinges include a wide range of hinge configurations for interior, exterior, residential, and commercial-style openings. The active assortment includes plain-bearing and ball-bearing hinges, spring hinges, stainless-steel models, non-removable-pin configurations, square-corner hinges, and hinges with common radius corners. The correct hinge depends on the door, frame, weight and use of the opening, and the existing or planned hinge preparation.

Begin with the hinge dimensions. Height and width should match the door and frame preparation, and replacement hinges should also match the corner style. A square-corner hinge will not drop cleanly into a rounded mortise without modification, while radius-corner hinges can use different radius dimensions. Compare screw-hole pattern and leaf thickness as well, especially when the goal is to reuse an existing mortise and fastener locations.

Bearing style and material affect how a hinge is specified. Ball-bearing hinges are commonly selected for heavier or higher-use doors, while plain-bearing hinges can suit many standard openings. Spring hinges provide closing action and require model-specific adjustment and installation. Stainless-steel hinges and other material options can be useful where the environment or project specification calls for them. Non-removable-pin features should be confirmed from the individual product rather than assumed from size or appearance.

The number and type of hinges required depends on the complete door assembly, including door height, weight, material, width, closer or other hardware, and applicable project requirements. Do not determine hinge quantity or suitability from finish alone. For fire-rated, commercial, or other regulated openings, confirm the complete hardware specification and any required listings or ratings for the exact products being used.

After size and function are confirmed, choose a Deltana finish that coordinates with nearby locks, stops, pulls, and other visible hardware. Matching the manufacturer's finish designation is more reliable than judging screen color alone. For replacements, fit and preparation should remain the first priority so the new hinge operates correctly without unnecessary work to the door or frame.
