Commercial entry door levers provide keyed or controlled access for offices, exterior entries, service rooms, utility spaces and other building openings. The precise operating function varies by product, so identify how the outside and inside levers must operate before choosing the lock.

Keying requirements are especially important on commercial projects. Products may use conventional cylinders, manufacturer-specific keyways, small-format interchangeable cores or less-cylinder and less-core preparations. If a new lever must work within an existing master-key or facility keying system, verify the cylinder and core requirements before ordering. A matching finish or lever design does not establish keying compatibility.

Check the physical door preparation as carefully as the function. Backset, bore dimensions, latch face, strike, door thickness, handing and trim dimensions can differ among lock families. Replacement work is simplest when the existing lock manufacturer, series and preparation can be identified. For new doors, coordinate the lock specification with the door and frame preparation before hardware is installed.

Grade, electronic features and listing information vary across the assortment. Some products are Grade 1 or Grade 2 commercial cylindrical locks, while electronic models may add keypad, credential or other access-control features. Confirm power, credential, cylinder and programming requirements on the individual product when selecting electronic hardware.

After function, preparation and keying are resolved, select the lever profile, trim and finish. Using related passage, classroom, storeroom and privacy functions from the same lock family can help maintain a consistent appearance across a project, but each opening should still be specified by its actual operating and security requirements.
