Commercial Single Cylinder Deadbolts

Shop commercial single cylinder deadbolts for exterior doors, service entrances, offices, classrooms, and other controlled openings. A typical single cylinder deadbolt uses a keyed cylinder on the outside and a thumbturn or other inside operating trim, although specialized commercial configurations can differ. The assortment includes Grade 1 and Grade 2 deadbolts, conventional-cylinder and SFIC-prepared models, classroom functions, and other commercial variants. Compare backset, door preparation, cylinder or core format, keyway, bolt and strike configuration, door thickness, trim dimensions, grade, and function before ordering. Always verify the exact inside and outside operation on the individual product.

Commercial Single Cylinder Deadbolts

Commercial single cylinder deadbolts provide a dedicated deadlocking point for exterior, service, office, classroom and other controlled openings. In the common configuration, the exterior side is operated by a keyed cylinder while the interior side uses a thumbturn. Commercial product families also include specialized functions, so the exact inside and outside operation should always be confirmed on the individual product.

Cylinder format is a major selection factor. The assortment includes conventional keyed cylinders, small-format interchangeable-core preparations and products supplied less cylinder or less core. A lock prepared for SFIC or another cylinder system must be paired with the compatible core and keying arrangement. Confirm keyway and cylinder requirements when the deadbolt needs to integrate with an existing facility key system.

Backset and door preparation must also match. Commercial deadbolts can use 2-3/8-inch, 2-3/4-inch or other specified backsets, along with different bore, edge, faceplate and strike preparations. Verify door thickness, bolt dimensions, strike configuration and trim footprint before replacing an existing deadbolt.

Grade 1 and Grade 2 deadbolts appear in the collection. Grade is one part of product selection, but function, cylinder format, door compatibility and manufacturer specifications are equally important. Classroom and other specialized deadbolt functions may operate differently from a standard exterior single-cylinder deadbolt even when both use one keyed cylinder.

For commercial or code-regulated openings, confirm the complete lock function and applicable project requirements before ordering. Egress, fire-door, accessibility and key-control requirements can affect the appropriate hardware. Use the manufacturer's specifications for the individual deadbolt to verify operation, ratings, preparation and compatibility.
