One Piece Handlesets

One piece handlesets use a continuous exterior plate that visually connects the grip and deadbolt trim for a unified front-door appearance. This collection includes active single-cylinder entry handlesets and coordinating dummy handlesets for residential exterior doors.

Before ordering, compare the door preparation, center-to-center spacing, backset, door thickness, handing where required, interior trim, cylinder or locking function, and lower grip mounting position. Dummy handlesets are non-locking trim for inactive doors and should not be confused with complete active entry sets.

Choosing a One Piece Handleset

A one piece handleset uses a long exterior plate or escutcheon to create a continuous visual line between the deadbolt area and the pull handle. This traditional entry-door format can give the exterior side of the door a more substantial, coordinated appearance than separate deadbolt and handleset trim.

For replacement work, measure the existing door preparation carefully. Important dimensions can include the deadbolt and latch backsets, vertical spacing between bores or trim locations, door thickness, and the distance to the lower mounting point for the exterior grip. Existing holes from a previous handleset may not align with a different series even when the overall style is similar.

Active entry handlesets include locking hardware for the operating door. Dummy handlesets are non-operating trim used to match an active handleset on an inactive door, such as the second leaf of some double-door entries. Verify whether the product is a complete active set, exterior trim, interior trim, or dummy set before ordering.

Finish and interior trim can be coordinated with nearby levers, knobs, hinges, kick plates, and other door hardware after fit and function are confirmed. If the handleset requires handing, select the handing based on the manufacturer’s instructions for the specific model.
