LED Lights

LED lights include energy-efficient lighting for indoor rooms, cabinets, task areas, walls, ceilings, and selected outdoor applications. This collection spans integrated LED fixtures and LED lighting systems, including tape and strip lighting, pendants, wall lights, ceiling fixtures, and related formats.

When comparing LED lighting, check fixture type, lumen output, color temperature, dimming compatibility, voltage, installation location, and whether the light source is integrated or replaceable. For system-based lighting such as tape lights, confirm that drivers, controls, connectors, and accessories are compatible with the same product family.

Choosing LED Lighting for Different Applications

LED lighting is available in many fixture and system formats, from decorative pendants and wall lights to low-profile tape lighting and task fixtures. Start with where the light will be installed and what it needs to accomplish. General room lighting, accent lighting, under-cabinet task lighting, exterior illumination, and decorative lighting can require very different fixture shapes, outputs, controls, and installation methods.

Light output is commonly compared by lumens rather than wattage alone. Color temperature affects whether the light appears warmer or cooler, while color-rendering specifications can matter in kitchens, bathrooms, retail displays, and other areas where accurate color appearance is useful. If dimming is important, verify that the fixture or LED system and the selected control are designed to work together.

Integrated LED fixtures contain the light source as part of the fixture, while other fixtures use replaceable LED lamps. Tape and strip lighting systems may require compatible drivers, power supplies, connectors, receivers, switches, and mounting accessories. Match voltage and system family carefully; components that look similar are not necessarily electrically compatible.

For bathrooms, covered outdoor locations, exposed exterior areas, and other environments where moisture may be present, verify the product’s listed location rating for the exact installation. Also review mounting dimensions, electrical requirements, control compatibility, and manufacturer instructions before installation.
