Deltana Catches and Latches

Deltana catches and latches include ball catches, roller catches, magnetic catches, tension catches, strikes, and related holding hardware for doors, closets, cabinets, and furniture. These components help keep a door or panel aligned and closed without using the same operating hardware as a conventional knob or lever latch.

Compare catch type, body dimensions, mounting method, strike style, adjustment range, door or panel preparation, and finish before ordering. Replacement work is easiest when the existing catch and strike dimensions are measured together.

Choosing Deltana Catches and Latches

Deltana catches and latches include several mechanisms for holding doors, closet panels, cabinet fronts, and similar openings closed. The active assortment includes ball catches, drive-in ball catches, roller catches, magnetic catches, tension catches, strike plates, and related components. These products can serve similar general purposes but use different mounting and engagement methods, so replacement selection should begin with the existing hardware and door preparation.

Ball catches use a spring-loaded ball that engages a strike as the door closes. Drive-in versions use a different installation format from rectangular faceplate models, and the body diameter or mortise dimensions need to match the preparation. Roller catches use one or more rollers against a strike, while magnetic catches rely on magnetic holding force. The correct choice depends on the opening, desired holding action, available mounting space, and existing preparation.

The strike is part of the system and should be checked with the catch rather than selected separately by appearance. Compare strike dimensions, lip or T-strike format, screw-hole locations, alignment, and the position where the catch meets the strike. Some catches offer adjustment that can help fine-tune engagement, but the product specification should be used to confirm how much adjustment is available and how it is made.

For replacement work, measure the catch body, faceplate, mounting-hole spacing, projection, and strike before removing the old hardware if possible. A catch that is slightly different in width or depth can require new mortising or drilling. Cabinet locks and related latch components that appear in the broader assortment should also be matched to their intended door or cabinet thickness, keying or locking function, and preparation.

Finish is usually a secondary consideration for catches because much of the mechanism may be concealed, but exposed faceplates and strikes can still be coordinated with hinges, knobs, levers, and other nearby hardware. Select the correct mechanism and dimensions first, then use the Deltana finish designation and individual product information to complete the match.
