Commercial Privacy Door Levers for Restrooms and Private Rooms
Commercial privacy door levers are intended for interior openings that require temporary privacy rather than keyed security. Common applications include restrooms, dressing rooms, private offices and similar spaces. The inside trim typically provides a locking control, while the outside trim may include an emergency-release feature depending on the product's function and manufacturer.
Do not select privacy hardware solely by appearance. Confirm the exact privacy function and how the inside locking control and outside release operate. Some products include an occupancy indicator or other specialized trim, while others use a more conventional push-button or turn-button arrangement. The individual product specifications define the actual function.
Replacement projects require the same dimensional checks used with other commercial cylindrical locks. Compare backset, cross-bore and edge-bore preparation, door thickness, latch and strike configuration, rose or escutcheon footprint and handing requirements. A lock with a compatible function can still require different door preparation.
