Ives Door Hardware

Choosing Ives Door Hardware

Ives produces a broad range of architectural hardware used around the door and frame. Products in this collection include stop and holder hardware, surface and flush bolts, catches, pulls, brackets, hooks, plates, and other components for residential and commercial openings. The correct selection depends on the specific job rather than the brand name alone.

For replacement work, identify the existing product type and measure the installed hardware before ordering. Body length and width, projection, screw spacing, strike or keeper dimensions, bolt throw, rod length, mounting surface, and door or frame preparation can all determine compatibility. When using an Ives hardware catalog, match the complete model number and finish designation, then compare the manufacturer's dimensions and installation template with the existing preparation. For Ives door pulls, check center-to-center mounting spacing, projection, grip clearance, and fastening method.

Commercial door hardware can also be series-specific. Flush bolts, holders, stops, pivots, and other components may be designed for particular door materials, mounting conditions, or paired-door arrangements. Use the model information and manufacturer documentation when replacing a component on an existing opening. Browse Ives flush bolts and surface bolts for bolt-specific choices and replacement guidance.

Material and finish should suit both the environment and the surrounding hardware. Brass, aluminum, steel, stainless, and other constructions appear across the Ives assortment, with architectural finishes intended to coordinate with hinges, locks, exit devices, pulls, and related trim.

When Ives hardware is installed on a fire-rated, egress, accessibility-related, or otherwise regulated opening, verify the exact product and complete door assembly requirements. A part that physically fits is not automatically suitable for every rated or life-safety application.
